Rehabilitation of the manholes for the main supply lines of the joint water management authority Lusshardt
Some years ago the joint water management authority Lusshardt started with rehabilitation measures for the manholes of the main supply lines to Hambruecken and Waghäusel-Wiesental. These manholes, of which several are over 50 years old, serve for cleaning and ventilation of the pipelines.
Due to corrosion damages at the lines and fittings as well as damages on the concrete these measures became necessary. New inlet pipes as well as new fittings such as shut-off valves and venting valves are required. To avoid leakage at the wall penetrations the existing wall openings were drilled out. New stainless steel pipelines were laid to the openings and then connected. The sealing of the pipelines in the manhole wall was done with Hauff seals type HRD. After this the concrete surface was rehabilitated as well.
